African-American traditions

A reader sent this undated item, which I found out on further searching is about a death that took place in 2004. Still, it’s notable. VFR is an American traditionist site. An established American tradition is the black tradition of becoming an “entrepreneur” in one’s late teens or early twenties and then being shot dead on one of America’s many Martin Luther King Boulevards. Another is the tradition having nine illegitimate children by the time one is 25 and giving them the kinds of names that Larmondo “Flair” Allen gave his.
