Why Scotland didn’t have an IRA problem

A follow-up from my correspondent in England about the Scots’ dealings with the Irish, or rather the IRA (though, echoing our view of “moderate” versus radical Moslems, she implies there’s no difference):

The IRA have had their hands in most terrorist organisations including the ETA in Spain and the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka. No doubt they have assisted the Moslems as well as they continue to explore the weaknesses in the British State. Perhaps it was the IRA who showed them how to get Government assisted grants via community centres to fund their weapons and training. The Irish did the same in England. In Scotland the repression of Irish politics and culture did not allow Irish Centres. The Scots may have treated the Irish brutally – anti Irish racism is worse in Scotland than almost anywhere else and Scots Regiments in Ireland have been far more brutal with the Republicans than the English were. However there has been no retaliation from the IRA. But look how the IRA have paid back English tolerance and kindness. The same things being said of the Moslems now were said of the Irish – “most are decent and don’t support the terrorists” .. but of course they did.

Now the Moslems are doing the same, no doubt Gerry Adams is one of their heroes. The IRA will probably assist them and train them as well.
