Where Bush’s war against terror and for democracy is leading: Hezbollah running Lebanon

According to the New York Times, the U.S. is going along with efforts by France and the UN to steer Hezbollah into the Lebanese political mainstream. This is because Hezbollah could stand in the way of U.S. efforts to get Syria to withdraw from Lebanon, and because Hezbolah represents the dominant political force in Lebanon. So, having made a religion out of the abstraction of “freedom,” we end up supporting our concrete enemies, whom such “freedom” must bring to power. Meanwhile, we—meaning the Bushites—keep dancing in the streets. Oh, the wonder, the joy, the exhilaration of freedom!
