Moslem soccer players threaten Norwegian fans with decapitation

When a fight broke out during a soccer game outside Bergen, Norway, several members of a Moslem-Norwegian soccer team, Djerv, threatened several fans with decapitation and rape. Though police were called at the time, no one was arrested, and, in the European manner, the official response toward the outrage seems quite vague and muted. Instead of criminal indictments for threatening murder and rape, instead of instant expulsion from the soccer league, unspecified “possible sanctions” against the offending players and club are being explored by soccer officials, who underscore that they must “try to aid Djerv as a club so that they can incorporate persons with multicultural background into the club in the most sensible way.” (“Players threatened to decapitate and rape,” Nettavisen Rubrikk, English language version, 9/21/04.)

A VFR reader comments:

In light of the weekly (it seems) decapitations going on in Iraq, imagine how shocking those threats must have sounded to the opposing fans at whom they were directed. It would never occur to these Norwegian Eloi officials to ask the obvious question: Why are these unassimilable people in our country in such large numbers? Prediction: One day the Moslem fans are going to catch someone in the stands, drag him somewhere, and saw his head off for supporting the opposing team, and then these liberals will solemnly tell us that “Norwegian bigotry and racism are as much to blame as the perpetrators are.”
