My mind’s eye was more accurate than an army of Republican pollsters

From an e-mail exchange on Monday, November 5:

Correspondent to LA

I do think Romney will win by a comfortable margin.

LA replies:

What makes you confident in a Romney victory?

Correspondent replies:

I see almost no enthusiasm for Obama and I think that means many 2008 voters will not vote. Also, people are very nervous about the economy.

I believe the polls predicted Jimmy Carter would win in 1980.

LA replies:

My thought:

Can you visualize Romney taking the oath of office, and Obama, the defeated and humiliated nonwhite messiah, sitting behind him watching him take the oath? I can’t. I can’t picture that happening. I hope I’m totally wrong.
