Pamela Geller’s anti-jihad ads as a model to follow

Here is a news clip from September 26 of liberal Muslim activist Mona Eltahawy spray painting Pamela Geller’s anti-jihad ad. In the video, Pamela Hall, who makes video recordings of anti-jihad events in New York (including my January 2010 speech), and who is a friend and supporter of Geller, simultaneously films the spray painter and tries to block her (though I wonder why Hall did the latter and what happened to her clothing).

Everyone knows that I have problems with some of Pamela Geller’s past actions, but I greatly admire her for putting up these posters with their categorical anti-liberal message, so boldly out of keeping with the temper of our time:

Traditionalists need to emulate Geller’s in-your-face approach. We could imagine a series of ads in subway stations and bus stops, with messages such as this:

The worst guilt is to accept an undeserved guilt—and that is what you have been doing all your life. (Ayn Rand)

White people’s false belief that they are responsible for black people’s problems is leading whites to hate themselves and devalue and destroy their own country. In reality, black dysfunction is not white people’s fault, and there is NOTHING that whites can do to make blacks equal in outcomes to themselves. It is time to return to the American tradition of individual rights, and stop seeking group equality of results.

Or this.

IS ISLAM A RELIGION OF PEACE?

That is what our leaders, who know nothing about Islam, tell us. But here is what Islam’s sacred book commands Muslims to do:

When the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush. (Koran 9:5)

Fight against those among the People of the Book [Christians and Jews] … until they pay the Jizya tax with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. (Koran 9:29).

O True believers, when you encounter the unbelievers, strike off their heads. (Koran 47.4)

We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. (Koran 3:151)

In reality, Islam is a religion of war and conquest and the dehumanization of the Other, and has been since it was founded 1,400 years ago. Every Muslim jihadist from the seventh century to the present moment has been a devout follower and practitioner of the above verses of the Koran.

The anti-Islam ad would certainly not pass muster in public spaces as it is attacking a religion, Islam, instead of just attacking jihad, as Geller’s ad does. I offer it not as as a final product, but as a stimulus to thought.
