The world before thoughtcrime

Our Canadian leftist reader Ken Hechtman regrets the imposed PC “tolerance” of today and says he would prefer an arrangement in which “your thoughts are your own but you’re expected to act like a professional to your co-workers.” I reply that he’s really speaking of the pre-1960 North American order (destroyed by the left) in which people were simply expected to behave decently.
