Ron Paul reminds us why he’s a figure of contempt

Clark Coleman sends this, from Gary Bauer’s e-mail today:
Not surprisingly, I think the “Goofy Award” for the craziest performance goes to Rep. Ron Paul. Paul said several things that were bizarre. But his implication that Americans who believe in border security would turn us into East Berlin took the prize.

When discussing the border fence, Paul said, “I think this fence business is designed and may well be used against us and keep us in…. So, every time you think of fence keeping all those bad people out, think about those fences maybe being used against us, keeping us in.” Really, Ron? You believe a border fence may be used to imprison Americans who want to escape?

“Goofy” is too mild a term for this libertarian lunatic, this fanatic for a “freedom” that would mean the end of any organized society.
