Newspaper photos of people arrested in British riots are almost all of whites

Here in New Zealand the major daily newspaper yesterday had a picture on the front page of the World section of a white youth being apprehended. No photos of anyone else. Today they have a line-up of mug shots of ten men sentenced to prison for looting in Manchester. Only one of the mug shots features a nonwhite person. It’s presumably intended to leave readers thinking the looting is mainly being committed by white “chavs.”

I couldn’t find the online version of the photos in the local paper, but the same photos are shown in The Mirror.
