Sharp divergence on the meaning of the tax deal

Dick Morris’s view of Obama’s tax deal with the Republicans is the complete opposite of Charles Krauthammer’s. Krauthammer says the Republicans folded to Obama, and that Obama’s comeback has begun, and that it is an even more impressive comeback than Clinton’s after the 1994 elections. Morris says that Obama is defeated and helpless, and that his tax “compromise” with the Republicans over the Bush tax cuts “is no more of a compromise than was the deal Emperor Hirohito cut with Gen. Douglas MacArthur on the deck of the battleship Missouri after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.”
