Missouri rejects Obamacare

Tim W. writes:

The press is downplaying this story, but Missouri voters passed an initiative to nullify ObamaCare’s health mandate by a whopping margin of 71 percent to 29 percent. Only two counties in the state supported the Obama position, those being the urban enclaves of St. Louis and Kansas City. The rest of the state voted about three-to-one against the Obama position, including one county where it was 89 percent against it.

It’s important to remember that Missouri is a state that is quite representative of the nation as a whole. It almost always goes with the winner in the presidential election, though that didn’t happen in 2008 (McCain won it by a fraction of a percentage point). But in a state where Obama won about half the vote, only 29 percent support his health mandate.
