Paleocons and die Austerfrage

Gintas writes:

Steve Burton at “What’s Wrong with the World” posts a video on a satisfying beatdown of a purse snatcher. He dangles the bait, right at the end:

Hat-tip to Dennis Mangan, (who’s always right about everything.)

I have no doubt that Burton knew what would happen. Lydia McGrew bravely tries to keep the discussion on the original subject of the rough justice on display in the video, but you know where this was bound to end up. About you. And a long thread about you over at Mangan’s. But you have your defenders. Here’s a commenter replying to Mangan:

You don’t see me reading people out of conservatism. (Not that I have the power to do so.)

You are Auster-haunted. His presence dominates your writing. He is dominant, and you are subordinate. He doesn’t have to mention you, someone on another even-more-obscure blog links him and you’re all jumpy.

Since Gintas wrote about the W4 thread where you were mentioned and insulted by some commentators, I thought I should point out this. Steve Burton came down very strongly saying that this thread would not turn into a discussion of (aka bashing of) you in the comments. He then worked directly to bring the conversation back on-topic. He was heeded, and the problem appears to have been headed off at the pass.

LA replies (June 9):

Yes, and a couple of hours after Burton said that he didn’t want the thread to “devolve into another discussion of Lawrence Auster,” this comment was posted:

I never miss Mangan, but he never lets me comment that Larry Auster is suffering from delusions of whiteness.

Cheers

So it appears that Steve Burton is more tolerant of the use of standard anti-Semitic tropes against me at his site than Mangan is at his.
