Hasselbeck drinks the Kool-Aid

No surprise that Laura Bush—that brainless liberal who said that conservatives’ opposition to the nomination of Harriet Miers to the U.S. Supreme Court was driven by “sexism”—supports homosexual “marriage.” After all, her husband, the president, didn’t even oppose it, as he demonstrated by giving the most minimalistic and coldly pro forma support to the federal marriage amendment, and by letting his vice president openly support homosexual marriage (which is still the only time I’m aware of that a sitting vice president has publicly taken a position different from the president). What is a surprise and a disappointment is that Elizabeth Hasselbeck on The View, a woman who has some genuine conservative positions and some courage in stating them, agrees with Mrs. Bush. The truth is that you can no more be a conservative and support homosexual “marriage,” than you can be a conservative and support Marxism. Hasselbeck is therefore not a conservative, but a liberal who has some conservative positions.

John Dempsey writes:

Not only does Laura Bush support gay marriage but it seems that she is also pro-choice on abortion. Here is her statement in an interview with Larry King.
