A further nail in Romney’s credibility

How is Romney going to maintain with a straight face his already unbelievable story that Romney Care is fundamentally different from Obamacare, when Jon Kingsdale, the chief implementer of Romney Care, is expressing his strong interest in moving to Washington to help implement Obamacare?

Kingsdale, 61, said in an interview that he has not yet decided on his next step, but is interested in working on implementation of the national health care overhaul that was in large measure modeled on the Massachusetts law. He said he had spoken with the Obama administration, but for now has decided against taking a job in the federal government.

“I think it’s going to be the toughest implementation of federal policy since the civil rights law,” Kingsdale said. “I love building stuff from scratch … and I think the challenge of doing this nationally is absolutely breathtaking.”

I repeat: I was an absolute rock for Romney in ‘08, because he was the only plausible alternative to the disaster of a McCain nomination. But now the supreme Republican issue is the repeal of Obamacare, and if Romney is the nominee, any hope of repealing Obamacare will be lost.
