Bizarre

The former “No Drama Obama” is turning out to be more of a head case than Richard Nixon.

From ABC News (here is discussion at Lucianne):

President Obama, buffeted by criticism of his massive health care reform bill and election setbacks, said today he remained determined to tackle health care and other big problems despite the political dangers to his presidency. “I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president,” he told ABC’s “World News” anchor Diane Sawyer in an exclusive interview today.

Comments by a couple of L-dotters (there are a lot of good comments at that thread):

I would be willing to tell him he was the greatest one year president we ever had, if he would go away tomorrow.

How does Obama measure really good? Turning us into a third world socialist state.

This is the kind of story Lucianne.com exists for. I’m copying the whole thread:

What a ridiculous and illogical statement. If he ends up being a great one term president then he will invariably be re-elected to another term. Which would make him a two term president. The reason Carter only served one term was because he was a namby pamby coward.

After watching Obama grovel before every world leader imaginable, Carter seems heroic in comparison.

That’s right Barack! You go stud!

Don’t actually impeach him, that never works. But if there were a concerted effort to make the job so uncomfortable that he would RESIGN, much as was forced upon Richard Nixon, that would be so much more effective.

And satisfying.

But these things must be done delicately.

Dr K said Barry neglected the third scenario-he’s a really mediocre one term president.

And Barry called those who are against Obamacare

I don’t know if this interview was before or after he called Magic Johnson ” infectious ” but, the wheels are coming off.

It is impossible to be a really good one term president, because the only way to be a one term president is by doing such a terrible job that the people do not re-elect you.

It’s that haughtiness that deludes him into thinking he’s good. I don’t care who replaces him, I’m down for impeaching him, myself.

Putting aside the short time Barry spent one summer as a construction laborer and another as an ice cream scoop, I think this might be the longest he’s ever held a job. So far, the lyin’, flyin’ purple-lipped savings eater has screwed up on this job too, and still locked himself in for a huge government pension plus expenses, not to mention security for life.

Every sign shows that he’d happily retire right now to spend the rest of his days playing golf and basketball, gazing at himself in the mirror and blaming George Bush.

Reply 38—Posted by: killerbee, 1/25/2010 8:10:13 PM

Mr. President, I’d rather you be a one-term president as well. We’re in agreement there.

What we DON’T agree on is what constitutes ‘good’.

He will neither be a relly good one-termer or a mediocre two-termer. If he doesn’t quit first (or get hauled away in a white jacket with no arms, he will be the worst one-termer EVER. Instead of “The Won”, it will be “The Worst”.

Reply 44—Posted by: Crystallite, 1/25/2010 8:23:31 PM

Hey, he thought he was doing a great job playacting at being president after 3 weeks in office. That’s what happens when you’ve been given a free pass your entire life and credit for work others have done. He holds himself to a very low level of accountability.

Reply 45—Posted by: Jethro bo, 1/25/2010 8:25:49 PM

So far he is one track to be a one term president but not a good one. And not a mediocre one. But the worst in the last two centuries is a very real possibility. I miss the decisive and by comparison conservative policies of Carter.

Another at least “Good” One term President was Franklin Pierce (D), NH—a distant relation of George W. Bush on his mother’s side, not to mention Bush 41 himself. As to GHWB—I have always thought that the end of his Presidency was like a Woody Allen joke. Lemmesee—The US gets involved with a war that we win in 60-90 days with less than 300 K.I.A. The USSR goes down the toilet the day after Christmas of the year of that war. The economy is “soft” yet on its way back during the summer of the election.

P.S. The President Loses Re-Election.

Had someone written that script for Hollywood, pre-1992, they would have been laughed out of town. Like—DUH!

I am sure that this has been covered in previous posts. We are not a Banana Republic that discards presidents at will. Our Presidents are given four year terms unless they do something really bad. This president has ignored the constitution, but he will never be convicted of that. So get ready to live with the next three years and deal with it. Elections do have consequences.

Just keep talking resignation, resignation, resignation. Obama has lost the American people, but on a level no one ever has—because he’s now exposed as a total fraud. He can’t recover. America is too important to allow a fraud to stay around four years.

Resignation—talk it up, every day with every neighbor, every friend, every co-worker. He’s a fraud; he needs to join Bernie.

I’ll take Biden—he’s pathetic but he won’t try to shove radical leftism down everyone’s throat. He’s at least an old school guy who knows how to read the tea leaves.

He wants to pass through a policy that he knows the voters would throw him out on one of his prodigious ears for implementing. What’s that tell you about his character?

Been saying for a while now: President Barack H. Obama will pull an LBJ and decline to run a second time.

Now he’s President. The ultimate title bestowed upon this most undeserving of candidates.

It will not surprise me if he wants to be UN Secretary General someday.

That’s all he wants is the title and the perqs that come with it. He is a hollow man.

The only thing that keeps Presidential power in check is the desire for a second term. A sitting president who is willing to serve one term, is a reckless and uncontrolled president. A true believer with serious power and no limiting conditions or countervailing control is a truly dangrous organism.

Did anyone else read, before the election, about O’s emotional breakdown while at Columbia, that he hated being “part white” and that he was diagnosed as a Schizophrenic and the heavy meds he was put on?

I wondered then if that’s why only one page of his physical health reports were ever released and his Columbia U.’s transcripts never released.

However, I don’t recall where I read that.

So, it may well be untrue.
