Brown ahead by five, White House has given up

Public Policy Polling has Brown up by 51 to 46, while CNN reports:

Multiple advisers to President Obama have privately told party officials that they believe Democrat Martha Coakley is going to lose Tuesday’s special election to fill the Massachusetts Senate seat held by the late Ted Kennedy for more than 40 years, several Democratic sources told CNN Sunday.

… the presidential advisers have grown increasingly pessimistic in the last three days about Coakley’s chances after a series of missteps by the candidate, sources said.

As we can see, expectation of a Brown victory is becoming the conventional wisdom. But, as I’ve said before, I’m not buying in to it. Unlike Hamlet, I’m not eating the air, promise-crammed. All that matters is the vote itself, and that will take place soon enough.
