Further evidence why Michael Steele in particular, and blacks in general, should not be leading the Republican Party

Bill V. writes:

Here’s the latest gem from Chairman of the Republican National Committee Michael Steele:

MARTIN: One of the criticisms I’ve always had is Republicans—white Republicans—have been scared of black folks.

STEELE: You’re absolutely right. I mean I’ve been in the room and they’ve been scared of me.

The lefty blogsophere has picked up on Steele’s helpful remark.

Stoic in Stafford writes:

There will never, Never, NEVER, NEVER, be enough black votes cast for the GOP to justify alienating the white conservative base. There are simply too many blacks who are illegitimate, undereducated, dependent on federal welfare and affirmative action to make any outreach to them a worthwhile and fruitful endeavor. For the GOP to thrive it must rely on Democratic overreach and incompetence and its casting the Democratic Party as the party of ACORN, illegals, welfare recipients, etc. Thanks to Obama, there are now far, far more white Reagan Democratic voters—and even Hispanics—who are reachable.
