Echoing Obama, Times tells Gov. Paterson to step aside:

From an editorial in today’s New York Times:

As well meaning as Mr. Paterson has been, he is not the right person for New York over the long haul.

Now the best thing he can do for his state is to announce that he will not seek a full term next year….

That does not, by the way, make the White House’s attempt to shove him out of the election next year any less unwelcome and amateurish.

So, Obama’s “attempt to shove [Paterson] out of the election next year [was] unwelcome and amateurish,” says the Times, as it joins in the attempt.
