Give Dowd a Pulitzer for journalistic scoop of the decade

Perhaps we should be grateful for the AP’s denigrating dismissal of Obamacare opponents as merely “confused,” when we consider the alternative liberal “analyses” of conservatives’ motivations that are out there, such as this, from the brainy and high-toned Maureen Dowd:

The normally nonchalant Barack Obama looked nonplussed, as Nancy Pelosi glowered behind.

Surrounded by middle-aged white guys—a sepia snapshot of the days when such pols ran Washington like their own men’s club—Joe Wilson yelled “You lie!” at a president who didn’t.

But, fair or not, what I heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, boy!

… Wilson’s shocking disrespect for the office of the president—no Democrat ever shouted “liar” at W. when he was hawking a fake case for war in Iraq—convinced me: Some people just can’t believe a black man is president and will never accept it.

Mark P. writes:

Maureen Dowd is angry because a rich, powerful white man declined to marry her and traded up to a more attractive model. Pretty much everything Dowd writes is a primal scream against a white male-run society that no longer finds her hot.
