Blair’s newest cause; and, Let’s send to liberals the same kind of message they send to us

Could there be anything more repulsive and alarming than a yapping left-wing former prime minister of Britain who has found religion and pledges himself to “represent God’s truth” to humanity? The unspeakable Tony Blair, whose New Labor ideology of cultural leftism and unqualified tolerance of aliens, jihadists, welfare recipients, and thugs left Britain wrecked and demoralized after his ten years in office, is now set on “saving” the entire world—from the West. And doing it in the name of … Catholicism.

Oh, what would it be like to have a world without the Tony Blairs, the GW Bushes, the Barack Obamas, the Nicholas Sarkozys, a world without the New York Times, the BBC, CBC, ABC, NBC, AP, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Knoxville News Sentinal, a world without the UN, the EU, the ICC, a world without the faculty of Harvard, a world without Ecole Polytechnique, a world without … liberals?

We can imagine, can’t we?

They’re always imagining us and everything we cherish out of existence. Why can’t we imagine them and everything they cherish out of existence?

Maybe I can get Philip M. to write a song about it.

Update: James R. has sent a wonderful parody of an anti-American pop song. It’s posted below.

Here’s the item about Blair, by David Blackburn at The Spectator:

Tony Blair interrupted his Mediterranean holiday, on which he spent time on billionaire Larry Ellison’s gin palace, to condemn materialism and the pursuit of personal wealth. The former PM addressed the Catholic Church’s ‘Communion and Liberation Conference’ in Rimini—a great honour for a layman.

Urging the universal adoption of the ascetic, the Quartet’s special envoy to the Middle East, who is also an advisor to JP Morgan and an internationally renowned lecturer and author—and therefore needs houses across the globe—said that the “aggressive secularism and materialism found in parts of the West” should not be allowed to “gain traction” in the rest of the world. According to the Guardian, Blair’s words had such power the audience was rendered speechless, as am I.

Speaking with trademark earnestness, a self-aware Mr Blair confided that his conversion to Catholicism had been “humbling”. And, echoing St Francis of Assisi, Mr Blair asserted that it was the “role of faith” to arrest the moral decline engendered by the love of money, and said he “would represent God’s truth” always. God help us.

Heaven? Don’t immanentize the eschaton. (Ha! Two Voegelin references in one day.)

I seem to recall that, around the time Blair converted, he was talking about becoming a deacon (i.e., receiving the sacrament of Holy Orders). At the time I just attributed it to his need to be in some—any—position of authority. God only knows for sure how sincere Blair’s conversion was, but items like this make me, shall we say, more skeptical than ever.

James R. has written a take-off on the 1972 Randy Newman song, “Political Science.” I wasn’t familiar with this shockingly anti-American song. But it fits right in with the way liberals feel about America, or rather how liberals feel about non-liberal white Americans. (To see what I mean, look at the David Horsey cartoon posted earlier today.)

Liberals like Newman see Americans, or rather non-liberal white Americans, as primitive brutes who hate all foreigners and would exterminate them if they could. It’s a view that, in one form or another, sometimes more extreme, sometimes less extreme, is constantly echoed by liberals, among them candidate Barack Obama in 2008 when he said that people in Pennsylvania take out their unhappiness on people who look different from themselves, and also when he said in his March 2008 race speech that his grandmother who raised him and put him through school was a “typical white person” who when she saw someone who looked different from herself on the street automatically had a negative reaction. It goes without saying that nonwhite people never have negative reactions to peoiple who look different from themselves; only white people have this disgusting moral defect. And of course Obama followed for 20 years an anti-American preacher whose slogan was, “White people’s greed runs a world in need.”

When liberals portray us, meaning non-liberal whites, as oppressors, as haters, as the cancer of the human race, they’re basically saying we shouldn’t exist. So, as I said above, let’s start returning the compliment.

Alternatively, James’s satire could be read as upping the ante: “You liberals think we regard all foreigners as enemies and want them dead? Not true. We regard you as enemies and want you dead. Since you think we’re such brutish haters, fine, here’s some hate for you.”

Of course I don’t mean and James doesn’t mean that we literally want liberals dead. But if we are to start regaining the moral and cultural ground that liberals have taken from us, we need to start using the same kind of language about them that they use about us. When they say, “Imagine there’s no (white Western) countries,” we need to answer, “Imagine there’s no liberals.”

. First comes Randy Newman’s America-hating lyrics, followed by James’s anti-liberal takeoff:

POLITICAL SCIENCE
by Randy Newman

No one likes us—I don’t know why
We may not be perfect, but heaven knows we try
But all around, even our old friends put us down
Let’s drop the big one and see what happens

We give them money-but are they grateful?
No, they’re spiteful and they’re hateful
They don’t respect us-so let’s surprise them
We’ll drop the big one and pulverize them

Asia’s crowded and Europe’s too old
Africa is far too hot
And Canada’s too cold
And South America stole our name
Let’s drop the big one
There’ll be no one left to blame us

We’ll save Australia
Don’t wanna hurt no kangaroo
We’ll build an All American amusement park there
They got surfin’, too

Boom goes London and boom Paris
More room for you and more room for me
And every city the whole world round
Will just be another American town
Oh, how peaceful it will be
We’ll set everybody free
You’ll wear a Japanese kimono babe
And there’ll be Italian shoes for me

They all hate us anyhow
So let’s drop the big one now
Let’s drop the big one now

Here is James R.’s version:

“Political Science” with thanks to Randy Newman.

Liberals don’t like us—I don’t know why
We may not be perfect, but heaven knows we try
But all around, every liberal puts us down
Let’s drop the big one and see what happens

Liberals take our money—but are they grateful?
No, they’re spiteful and they’re hateful
They don’t respect us—so let’s surprise them
We’ll drop the big one and pulverize them

San Francisco’s crowded and Boston’s too old
Austin is far too hot
And Madison’s too cold
And Eugene’s got a joke for a name
Let’s drop the big one
There’ll be no one left to blame us

We’ll save Wyoming
Don’t wanna hurt no pronghorn
We’ll all meet at Cheyenne for Frontier Days
That’s where bigtime rodeoin’ was born

Boom goes Boulder and boom Berkeley
More room for you and more room for me
And every city the whole country round
Will just be another conservative town
Oh, how peaceful it will be
We’ll set everybody free
You’ll wear a hemp halter top babe
And there’ll be Jesus sandals for me

Liberals all hate us anyhow
So let’s drop the big one now
Let’s drop the big one now

Here it is necessary to recall that liberals always, always accuse their enemies of planning to do (or intending or dreaming of doing) what the liberals plan, intend, or dream of doing themselves. Liberals can thus commit evils and break the rules with a clear conscience because they’re only doing what their enemies planned to do (or are doing) first.
