A sophist’s attempt to send up VFR

Whatever one thinks of our discussion about Roissyism over the last few days, no one could say that it’s been meaningless. Correction. The blogger Thrasymachus, who names himself after the sophist of Plato’s Republic and subtitles his blog “sophistry,” presents a satirical summary of the discussion here, and, according to him, it’s been utterly vapid and ridiculous.

Arguments that there is truth, that things mean something, that things matter, make sophists feel uptight, scornful, out of sorts. The blogger should remember that his namesake was ultimately silenced by Socrates’ arguments and began to listen.
