Brits’ notion of a conservative response to the government’s surrender to extremist Muslims

Leo McKinstry in the Express complains of how the British government sides with extremist Muslims and against those opposing them. He ends on this note: “It is the extremists who are setting the agenda. We need a Government that stands up to them rather than continually waving the white flag.”

Sorry, but that’s pathetic. Vague wishes that the government “stand up” are meaningless. McKinstry needs to say what the “standing up” shall consist of. What is needed is a call for specific actions and policies to deal with the Muslim threat, followed by persistent defense and explanation of those policies against all criticisms. Without principled advocacy of a new approach to Islam radically different from what is being done now, all you have is the impotent grumbling that passes for hard-line conservatism in the Dead Island.
