Johnson believes the anti-Semitic spam attack on me, tells his readers I am posting David Duke articles

The anti-Semitic spam campaign against me continues. In the latest stage, someone using my name has posted a David Duke article at something called Information Technology Services Listserv. Charles “Celtic Cross” Johnson inevitably picked it up and gleefully writes:

Posted yesterday at the moderated listserv of the National Communication Association, one of the two top organizations for scholars in the field of Communication: an antisemitic diatribe by David Duke. And unless someone is using his name, this disgusting article was posted by “racialist” writer Lawrence Auster—who has viciously attacked me for my opposition to European fascists.

Liberal academics, white supremacists, and “anti-jihadists.” One big happy family.

Sorry to disappoint Johnson, but I had nothing to do with the Duke article. The same party who has sent out tens of thousands of anti-Semitic e-mails making them look as though they came from me and my e-mail address, thus rendering my regular AT&T mailbox unusable, has now gone on to another stage of the campaign.

If Johnson had a modicum of character and intelligence, he wouldn’t have merely mentioned it as a passing possibility that someone was using my name, and then proceeded to ignore that possibility and treat the anti-Semitic post by “Lawrence Auster” as genuine. He would have told his readers that, however awful a person I might be, it was impossible that I was sending out anti-Semitic David Duke articles. But, in Johnson’s world, as I’ve shown before, neo-nazis, fascists, fascist sympathizers, anti-Semites, racists, and anyone who defends anyone from any of those labels, as well as immigration restrictionists, traditional European conservatives, traditional Christians who disapprove of homosexual liberation, and anti-jihadists who actually want to do something to stop the Islamization of Europe, are all part of one undifferentiated community of evil. So it’s beyond Johnson’s ken to grasp the absurdity of the notion that I am posting David Duke articles on the Web; and, even if he did see the absurdity of it, it’s beyond his character to care.

Note: I have presented the URL but not a hyperlink because LGF posts cannot be linked directly from VFR. Anti-Semitic spammers are not the only Internet vandals. Charles Johnson rigs the websites of people he doesn’t like so that any link to his site from their sites will set off a disturbingly loud, insulting cartoon. In this entry I discuss the disruptive and pornographic displays that the people on Johnson’s enemies list are exposed to if they try to link to his site.

UPDATE January 17:

Thanks to Ron L. and others, who communicated with LGF commenters who in turn apparently communicated with Johnson, Johnson posted this update at 6:17 p.m. yesterday Eastern time:

According to an email we received, Auster was the victim of an impersonation in this case, and did not post the Duke article to the listserv.
