Reader says Obama will rule through lawlessness, intimidation

N. writes:

One of the premises underlying the idea that an Obama presidency will lead to a resurgent conservatism is that Obama and his followers will play by the rules. That they won’t misuse government resources to harass, intimidate and otherwise “get after” critics. That they won’t change voter registration laws in order to create millions of new Democrat voters. That they will allow themselves to be opposed in the news media.

Here we see that computers within the Ohio State government were used to obtain data on “Joe the Plumber.”

Excerpt:

Information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.

It has not been determined who checked on Wurzelbacher, or why. Direct access to driver’s license and vehicle registration information from BMV computers is restricted to legitimate law enforcement and government business.

Comment: No, I am not saying that Senator Obama ordered this to be done. He did not have to, his followers/surrogates did it on their own. So the debate over how Obama will govern is moot, because we can see his followers and surrogates already abusing power to “get” a critic of Obama, just as we saw an electronic version of a mob try to shut down Stanley Kurtz on a Chicago radio interview, and as we saw attempts in Missouri to use the courts and police to prevent advertisements.

Please note that the law is being broken, and opposition to Obama is being criminalized right now, and he is not yet in office. The kind of people that Obama will bring with him into the Justice Department, the Department of Energy, the Department of Education, etc. guarantees an endless parade of abuses of power intended to stifle dissent. Conservatives will find themselves shut out of all debate more and more; the mainstream media won’t call Obama or his followers/surrogates on anything, and court fights are expensive. Defending against a bogus Federal charge would cost $10,000 just for a start, and could become much more if the case is dragged out.

Now add to that picture active efforts by ACORN and other organizations to stuff the voter rolls as much as possible, making fair elections essentially impossible. One of the attacks that leftists use on democracies is to give the impression that voting is irrelevant, meaningless, in order to suppress opposition voting. The left’s primary weapon is despair: inducing despair in ordinary people so that they either give up, or turn left.

Four years of Obama and his supporters will make this country into something we won’t recognize.
