Muslim targets and stabs man on Ottawa bus

OTTAWA—A 19-year-old man faces multiple charges after a stabbing on an Ottawa city bus early Friday morning.

Police arrested two men after a man was stabbed in the chest during a fight aboard the bus involving the victim.

The two men fled the scene but police caught them a short distance away.

The male victim was taken to hospital.

Aden Ahmed will appear in court Saturday on charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous.

Police say the other suspect has been released without charge.

That’s pretty brief, and gives us almost no idea of what actually happened. In terms of factual content, it’s little more than a headline. However, unlike with the Alberta beheading, where the assailant’s name was not released until 37 hours after the incident, here the name was given out immediately: Aden Ahmed, no doubt an Episcopalian upset about the disarray within the Anglican Communion.

A search of the Web found a far more detailed story. What happened was much more specific, and much more like the Alberta beheading incident, than the Canadian Press story indicates:

Passenger stabbed on Transpo bus
Ottawa Sun

“I’ve been stabbed,” the bloody victim of an OC Transpo attack said as he stumbled toward the front of the bus early this morning.

The man, in his mid-40s, was stabbed in the chest during a fight with two men on the 95 bus between Hurdman Station and the University of Ottawa.

The victim boarded the bus at the St. Laurent Centre shortly after midnight and sat at the back of the bus, witness Alex Winstan said.

Two young men, who were “clearly looking for trouble,” also boarded at Hurdman Station, he said.

They chose a seat too close to the victim on the nearly empty bus, he said.

About five minutes later they started arguing with him.

“I didn’t want to look toward the back, I didn’t want to put my life in danger,” Winstan said.

An off-duty security guard tried to break up the fist fight, but it was too late.

The victim moved to the middle of the bus, where Winstan noticed a “huge stab wound” and blood stain on his chest.

“He looked terrified,” Winstan said.

He asked for help, then walked to the back of the bus and started swinging at his assailants.

The bus driver stopped the bus, stayed in his seat and called police, Winstan said.

The suspects got off at the University of Ottawa stop and ran away.

Police later apprehended two suspects on the campus.

Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before taking him to hospital in critical condition. He spent the night in hospital, but was released yesterday afternoon.

Police have charged Aden Ahmed, 19, with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous. He will appear in court tomorrow for a bail hearing.

The other man arrested was released without charges.

The Ottawa victim was sitting at the back of the bus, just as Tim McLean was sitting at the back of the Greyhound bus in Alberta. The Ottawa attackers, with apparent deliberateness, sat next to the victim, just as Vince Weiguang Li with apparent deliberateness sat next to Tim McLean. Within a few minutes of sitting next to the victim, the attackers suddenly started an argument with him and one of the attackers stabbed him, just as the beheader Li without any warning or provocation suddenly began stabbing the sleeping Tim McClean in the throat and chest. And other passengers on the Ottawa bus turned away from the attack, just as on the Alberta bus everyone simply fled. The big difference was that in this attack the victim was able to fight back, and that the attack ended with a single, non-life threatening chest wound.

This is why I take advantage of Virginia’s concealed gun carry permit. I tote my loaded .357 Magnum in my little lap top carry bag everywhere I go. I cannot describe the liberation it provides from any potential black, Hispanic and Muslim intimidation. Indeed, when I travel in the DC Metro I will actually choose to sit next to members of the predatory class, as I keep my hand in contact with my weapon concealed in the bag. It’s a beautiful thing—the Second Amendment, and the Left had better not tamper with it. Speaking of Second Amendment, I am sure you folks noticed that in America, where Americans have the right to bear arms, Muslims don’t pull this type of nonsense as they do in Canada and Europe.

The only further step you could take to become Charles Bronson would be to walk through deserted parks and neighborhoods late at night, hand in your laptop bag.

Like Mark Jaws, I ride the DC metro and buses a lot. Unlike him, I do not choose to sit near members of the predatory classes, since I do my utmost to avoid trouble (and this means I don’t sit with my back to them, either). What I have noticed is that the vast majority of the people on the bus and metro simply aren’t paying any attention at all to their environment - they are reading or listening to their iPods. If someone akin to these Canadian attackers were looking for a victim, they will no doubt avoid people like Mark and myself and target someone who is not paying attention. Potential victims are not hard to find at all….

James W. writes:

Criminals, like dogs, are not intelligent, but instead access their intuition to sense fear and weakness. So they understand instinctively that there is something wrong with the Mark Jaws profile. The very fact that he has no fear makes it far less likely he would be attacked.

As Robert Heinlein said, an armed society is a polite society.
