Palin unpacks on the cause of the 9/11 attack

Hannon writes:

I heard some excerpts of Charles Gibson’s interview with Sarah Palin on the radio driving home from work today. She carried on, from rote memory apparently, about how the 9/11 attack happened because the perps didn’t share our wondrous American outlook on opportunity and freedom. I cannot claim to be surprised about her trotting out this gibberish, but I was surprised at my mildly visceral reaction, something like going on a date with a woman who is the paragon of pulchritude but then realizing, after exchanging a few sentences, that her overall appeal has irretrievably melted away. The honeymoon is over and I never even got to unpack!

LA replies:

That’s funny. How quickly an attraction based on a first impression can dissipate when the first impression is contradicted.

But I wonder what philosophy/world view Palin’s infatuated conservative supporters THOUGHT that the vice presidential running mate of JOHN MCCAIN would be enunciating? Old Right anti-statism? Paleoconservatism? Buchananite America-Firstism? VFR-style traditionalism?
