What do you say when the worst has happened?
The reason I have not posted anything all day is not that I am depressed by the day’s events, though I am depressed by them. I was away all day at a funeral and family gathering, and only heard about Romney’s withdrawal two hours ago. People who saw his speech said it was fantastic, the best speech of the campaign, and that they were shocked at the end of it when he announced he was suspending his candidacy. I guess he was operating by the principle of leave’em wanting more. He demonstrated his total superiority over McCain, and then withdrew from the race.
So now there’s no escape. McCain, Hillary, or Obama is going to be the next president. Email entry |
