A technical fix to our Islam problem

Paul P. writes:

You say:

“In the absence of an openly declared civilizational and religous confrontation, Westerners will inevitably tell themselves that only violent Muslims are the problem, and that the doors of the West should be opened wide to all other Muslims”

This is likely true. It certainly seems so at the moment. A reasonable response in the context of discussion of whether there should be, and if so how much, Muslim immigration would seem to be this:

Fine … let’s permit nonviolent Muslims to immigrate just like others, but only providing that someone can construct a machine which functions perfectly at all times and which (i) permits us to distinguish before they are here the violent from the nonviolent Muslims and (ii) also permits us to determine which of their descendents (say for at least seven generations) will be equally nonviolent.

Given such machines developed and deployed everywhere relevant to immigration, I can see allowing in maybe eight Muslim immigrants every year if it could be argued that they would contribute to America in some positive way, say to at least the extent of eligible non-Muslims.
