Bush lunacy driving long-time conservative supporters to desert him

A reader who once was very fond of President Bush writes:

More people are getting fed up with Bush. Start with this by Ross Douthat and also go to the links he provides, to Rod Dreher and then from him to a blogger named Poulos, to see how more conservatives are wanting to ditch Bush.

If you read these discussions, you’ll see that the thing that is driving people over the edge is the very thing mentioned in my blog entry, “True and false perversions,” namely the way Bush has perverted normative American beliefs by mixing them with an alien, world-transforming ideology—the very thing he falsely accuses the jihadists of having done to the “benign” religion of Islam.
