British magazine looks forward to an Islamic London

I wrote in January 2006 (“Western liberals’ ultimate embrace of Islam”) that if the day comes when Islam takes over Europe, the European elites will positively welcome it, because “they literally do not want our civilization to continue, it’s too guilty, too powerful, and its guilt and its power are too much of a burden for them.” I said they would be happier as functionaries of a European Caliphate.

In June 2007 the British website Time Out writes:

Is London’s future Islamic?

It’s the capital’s fastest growing religion, based on noble traditions and compassionate principles, yet Islam can still be tainted by mistrust and misunderstanding. Here Time Out argues that an Islamic London would be a better place.

The rest of the article catalogs the ways that Muslim domination would improve London and Britain—better health (Muslims wash their hands five times a day, and Muslims don’t drink), better education (at Islamic schools), better race relations (Muslims consider all people to be one—uh, excuse me, they consider all Muslims to be one). At times you start to think it’s a parody, but as a whole it does not read like a parody and, as appalling as this is, I don’t think it is one.

Howard Sutherland writes:

I wonder how Michael Hodges got so thoroughly dhimmified. Even by the debased standards of what’s left of our civilization this is an extraordinarily craven and spineless groveling before The Other. There must be a lie in every sentence, and distortions aplenty. My favorite, if that’s the word:

“For a start, Islam is not an alien religion to London. At the end of World War I the city sat at the heart of an Empire that had 160 million Muslim subjects, 80 million in India alone. London was the largest Islamic capital in the world.”

What an extraordinary (sorry to use that word so often, but it’s the only one that serves) lie. The British Empire may have ruled lots of Moslems in its prime (with ultimately catastrophic consequences for the Britons themselves), but there were effectively none in London, which in imperial days was a robustly and proudly English city, as it is no longer—to TimeOut’s evident joy. Not content to lie about London, Hodges winds up with one of the Great Lies about Islam:

“Under Islam all ethnicities are equal. Once you have submitted to Allah you are a Muslim—it doesn’t matter what colour you are. End of story.”

Is that so? I wonder if Hodges has spoken to any of the black Africans Arab Moslems still like to hold as slaves? Has he ever asked a Filipino or Bangladeshi what it is like to be an indentured servant in Araby? What Arabs think of other races, especially those darker than themselves? Hodges’ arrogant yet submissive liberal hauteur almost makes me wish he could endure life as a white Englishman (if that’s what he is; in London this sort of sanctimonious tripe is usually written by smug resident Irishmen or American Jewish expatriates, who feel themselves infinitely superior to the bigoted, drunken English) under a caliphate in once-Great Britain.

This is a detestable, heinous piece. Hodges writes hypothetically of hangings in Trafalgar Square; I would gladly attend his, and I’m not generally a fan of capital punishment.

What a good example of the inane, insane contradictions of liberalism TimeOut is, consumed by faux-egalitarianism and hatred of our Western heritage. When we lived in London, TimeOut was moving from being a newsbill and theatre schedule (analogous to New York’s Cue, if anyone remembers that) to a vociferous proselytizer for “lifestyle” liberalism. As I remember, its hobbyhorse was homosexuality, and how wonderful and liberating it is for boyz and girlz everywhere; TimeOut got into the business of publishing “gay”-friendly guides to assorted cities early. I wonder how they reconcile their homosexualism with their new-found adoration of the Religion of Peace? Some Middle Eastern Moslems may bugger boys, but they don’t do it openly and they don’t pretend it is good. Under the caliphate Hodges evidently longs for, the sort of overt feminised homosexuals TimeOut is so fond of—for all I know its editors are among them—would soon find themselves swinging from his hypothetical gallows pole.

Reading things like this helps me believe Satan is alive, well and spreading his poison throughout the no-longer-Christian West. Given its tenets and history, I have often wondered if Islam isn’t his creed, anyway. Maybe dhimmified traitors like Michael Hodges will make his acquaintance when they shuffle off this mortal coil… In the meantime, God help the rest of us. HRS

Karen writes from England:

What an appalling article from “Time Out” Magazine, although the Islamisation seems to be progressing rapidly. Walking around Kensington today, I realised I am beginning to hate this place. A previous white middle class area is deteriorating rapidly. I saw three Moslem women perched on the garden wall of a rather splendid house (no doubt not their own) eating in the street. There were others strolling the streets dropping litter and spitting. In one small street most of the businesses are Moslem owned and that is also spreading to the High St with multiple Arab restaurants opening. The transformation is happening.
