Bush welcomes Dem victory in House, just as VFR predicted

The first news out of the White House on this night when the Republicans lost control of the House of Representatives is that this gives the president the opportunity to pass his kill-American bill. Bush wanted the GOP to lose the House, because they stood in his way of the measure closest to his heart. Just as I have been saying all along, most recently Election Day morning, when I wrote that if the GOP loses the House, “Bush, in concert with Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats, will then be free to push through his immigration bill in the next Congress.”

Ben writes:

The President is going to give a press conference tomorrow on the Republican loss of the House so we might get this out of his mouth tomorrow to confirm what many VFR readers have been saying…..

I just heard the White House correspondent at Fox say that Bush actually thought that this could be a plus since the country could move forward with comprehensive immigration reform. In other words, Bush has stated openly that the Republicans losing the House is not so bad, just as VFR readers suspected.

Others heard this too, I don’t have a direct link yet but here is a forum where they are talking about what I heard as well.

More confirmation of what I heard.

Please, Please, Please [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
Tell me Tony Snow didn’t say this. Via a reader: “FoxNews reporting from the White House: White House spokesman Tony Snow reacted to the change in House control by allowing they’re disappointed, but that it presents some intriguing opportunities, such as passing comprehensive immigration reform which failed in the previous Republican House.”Posted at 11:59 PM

LA replies:

What, Lopez is surprised at this? She’s not aware of the fact that Bush wants to pass the comprehensive bill?

John Hagen writes:

Fox news just reported that Tony Snow said this evening that perhaps we can move forward with comprehensive immigration reform……that’s what Snow heard at the White House tonight. That’s the ONLY thing on the so-called mind of our President this evening.
