“American” doesn’t necessarily mean what we think it means

Debbie Schlussel says many of the “Americans” in Lebanon are Shi’ite Muslim supporters of Hezbolah and should not be brought back to the U.S. at this time. In addition to the “Americans” in Lebanon, consider the “Americans” in America, all of them here thanks to our non-discriminatory immigration policy, which not a single figure in mainstream American politics opposes.
