Tracking the neocons

Given the close, careful, even obsessive and Ahab-like way I’ve been following the ins and outs of the neoconservatives for the last 15 or 20 years, including their good principles, their bad principles, their endless betrayals of their good principles for bad principles, and of their bad principles for even worse principles, plus their occasional reversion toward some better principle, without their having the honesty to admit that they were previously promoting its bad opposite (see, e.g., this and this and this and this and this), I feel like that song by the group Police in the early 1980s:

Every bond you break
Every step you take
I’ll be watching you.

And every word you say
Every game you play …
I’ll be watching you.

With every step you take
Every move you make
Every vow you break
… every claim you stake
I’ll be watching you.

I chuckled at your witty use of Police lyrics. Permit me an alternative:

“I keep a close watch on these Neocons of mine.
I keep my eyes wide open all the time.”

(with apologies to the late Johhny Cash.)
