Bush is to the left as Kerry is to foreign enemies

Reflecting on my earlier observations about President Bush’s long-delayed speech countering the leftist lie that he deliberately deceived us about WMDs, and about Bush’s never-delivered speech countering the leftist lie that he “stole” Florida in 2000, we could conclude that Bush defends himself from leftist lies in the same manner that John Kerry would defend America from a foreign enemy—only as a last resort. Thus Bush waits until the problem becomes worse and worse, waiting far too long to respond, and then, and only under extreme necessity, finally makes one little gesture in the right direction, and then immediately goes back to business as usual, i.e., back to appeasement.
