RNC touts liberals for Miers

The Bush people are so desperate (a much overused word, but I think in this case they really are desperate) to find supporters for Harriet Miers that the Republican National Committee is now circulating an op-ed by a former head of the ABA, Martha Barnett, saying that Miers is “supremely qualified” for the Supreme Court. Unfortunately for Miers’s (and the RNC’s) credibility among conservatives, Barnett happens to be a major recent funder of Democratic candidates including John Kerry, and a past winner of the “Hillary Clinton Glass Cutter Award.”
