40th anniversary of suicide charter

I’m normally not big on anniversaries, which are so absurdly overdone in our society. But I missed noting a big anniversary earlier this month. Forty years ago, on October 3, in a ceremony at the foot of the Statue of Liberty, President Lyndon Johnson signed the Immigration Reform Act of 1965, or, as I think of it, the National Suicide Act of 1965.
