Correction

Earlier today I used Stephen Steinlight as an example of what I was calling the classical liberal view of immigration, namely that immigration restrictions should only be based on violence or hatred coming from an immigrant group, not on its general cultural assimilability into the United States, and therefore that we should only focus on the terrorist or anti-Semitic aspect of Islam, not on its culture.

I had a memory of Steinlight having said this somewhere, but cannot find the quote. I should not have characterized and interpreted his views as I did without having the quote on hand. My apologies. I’ve removed the blog entry from the Web and will rework it.
