The Perfect (Cultural) Storm

What is happening in New Orleans is the perfect coming together of a huge natural disaster with the cultural cesspool of contemporary America: indolent, incompetent public officals; a disordered and violent populace; bureaucratic passivity at the federal level; political correctness and non-judgmentalness overhanging everything; reporters incapable of asking meaningful questions; an overall inability to grapple with reality. The death of New Orleans is a harbinger of the death of America. God keeps sending us the clearest warnings about our moral condition and what it is inevitably bringing upon us. We call the warnings wake-up calls, yet continue sleeping. The warnings and harbingers won’t continue forever.
