What’s wrong with Mexico

From an American who has been living in Mexico for eight years come a brief, pointed statement, posted by John Brimelow at vdare, about what is wrong with Mexico and why Mexican immigrants can only ruin our country. It is because their ethos is incompatible with ours on a profound level. Mexicans have no sense of a common good, of a shared polity. The very thing that has been historically unique and most characteristic and precious about America—that we are a single society in which everyone lives under the same rule of law—is the very thing that is most lacking in Mexico. For the Mexicans, corruption is not just a vice or problem, it is the essence of their political society.
