J. Podhoretz calls for war against—whom?

The girls and boys at The Corner are chatting about the London attacks, including this remark from the ineffable John Podhoretz:

THE MONSTERS ARE REAL
Re London: We are not safe. We. Are. Not. Safe. These fiends will drench the streets of the world’s free societies with the blood of the innocent unless they are stopped.

This tough talk comes from a person who draws absolutely no connection between terrorist attacks in Western countries and the presence in those countries of millions of mideastern Moslems. A person who has never once criticized any aspect of immigration. A person who calls immigration critics racist. Yet he makes big noises about how much danger we are in, and calls for our enemies to be “stopped.” By which he means what, exactly? Increasing our efforts to defeat the Iraq insurgency, by redoubling our efforts to spread democracy in the Mideast?
