Moslems and the Pope of dhimmitude

Moslems finally find a Christian they can love: “Muslims hail Pope’s bridge-building,” announces Reuters, reporting on Moslem leaders all over the world who are lauding the Pope for the way he reached out to Moslems, adopted the Palestinian cause, sided against the U.S. war in Iraq, called for open borders, and so much more. In response, a welcome peep of dissent is finally heard in the mainstream, from a commenter at Lucianne.com:

He did call the Koran “holy” and Moslems “our brothers,” Galatians 1-9 not withstanding.

I dutifully looked up Paul’s Letter to the Galatians, 1:8-9:

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

This, needless to say, was not the Pope’s view. He promoted the New-Age, Vatican II heresy that the advent of Christ permanently changed and divinized human nature, linking all men to Christ, regardless of whether they believe in him or not. From this it follows that all religions are good, that the Catholic religion or Biblical religions generally are not essentially better than non-Western religions including Islam and voodoo, both of which the Pope honored. In short, JPII made Christianity unnecessary by changing it into a kind of universal pantheism, while still keeping the external form of the Church. It’s because he kept the external form that both liberals and conservatives think of him as a “staunch traditionalist,” even though he laid down concepts that spell the destruction of Christianity and the civilization, our civilization, to which it gave birth.
