Many Lucianne posters angry at Bush

Check out this thread on Bush’s immigration proposal at Lucianne.com (threads there are taken off the Web after two days). Many people are furious and ready to bail out on Bush, others say they’ll still vote for him but regrettfully, others defend him. On balance, the signs are that Bush is going to lose an undetermined number of conservative votes over this, and also lose in the emotional commitment of those who do vote for him.

You know, Lou Dobbs really is quite good on this issue. I just listened to him hammer first a pair of “experts” and then a pair of Congressman (one of which was mildly hostile toward Bush’s idiocy). Dobb and Bill O’Reilly are the only conservatives left! A sad day indeed.

I don’t follow Lucianne.com, so looking at it was an eye-opener for me. I was struck by how many of the posters are already looking for rationales to keep supporting Bush. I was also struck by the very poor quality of most posts, certainly compared to VFR. There is a big difference between the mainstream right and the real Right! HRS

One also noted that the chief argument of the pro-Bushers seemed to be that anyone who was now less than enthusiastic about the re-election campaign was an “idiot,” “a knee-jerker,” a “sitepest,” etc.

Er…Who are these people? RNC hacks? Paid-up lobbyists? Insurance salesmen?

Anyway, found it very odd and distasteful.

To be fair, there are many bright and observant comments made at Lucianne, along with many obnoxious comments. The thing it’s best for is skewering the left.
