Curing us of therapy

New studies show that the whole idea of basing what you do on studies, psychological advice and general schemes of social improvement is a bad one. In particular, you’re better off if you keep a stiff upper lip and don’t bother getting in touch with your feelings. On the other hand, if you’re a schoolteacher and you feel like patting a kid on the head it’s probably a good idea to do so. And everywhere in the world children have always been grouped by sex in schools and similar activities. What possible reason could there be to think that everyone’s always been mistaken about something so basic as whether to teach girls and boys together or apart?
