Sean Hannity has “evolved,” now supports legalization of illegal aliens

As the reader who sent this to me wrote, “What a worthless and transparent little twerp.”

Politico reports:

Sean Hannity said Thursday he has “evolved” on immigration and now supports a “pathway to citizenship.” [LA replies: Of course, citizenship is not what it’s about, but permanent legal residency, i.e., a green card. Many millions of people live here legally their entire lives without becoming citizens.]

Hannity told his radio listeners Thursday afternoon that the United States needs to “get rid of the immigration issue altogether.” [LA replies: “Getting rid of the immigration issue” simply means surrendering to open borders.”]

“It’s simple to me to fix it,” Hannity said. “I think you control the border first. You create a pathway for those people that are here—you don’t say you’ve got to go home. And that is a position that I’ve evolved on. Because, you know what, it’s got to be resolved. The majority of people here, if some people have criminal records you can send them home, but if people are here, law-abiding, participating for years, their kids are born here, you know, first secure the border, pathway to citizenship, done.”

“You can’t let the problem continue—it’s got to stop,” the conservative radio host added.

[end of article].

This a classic act of conservative surrender which helps validate the liberal view that conservatives have no reasoned or principled basis for their positions, but are just acting out of emotion or bigotry or fear or transient political motives—a false position out of which they eventually will “evolve.” Hannity, who has always been a decent though intellectually limited person, has utterly discredited himself with this step. I hope all his conservative fans stop stone cold watching and listening to his TV and radio programs, so that his career will come to an abrupt halt. That’s what he deserves. In recent years I have occasionally watched Hannity’s program on Fox. I will never watch him again.
