What America now is—what a liberal democracy with 35 million blacks is.

The item is reported at The Blaze:

Yesterday, both President Obama and Mitt Romney were in the swing state of Ohio campaigning. At one Romney event near Cleveland, a group of Obama supporters gathered to voice their dislike for Romney.

One apparent Obama supporter was caught on video seemingly giving a very clear explanation of why she is voting for the president and why she does not like Mitt Romney.

The passionate explanation for the former involves Obama giving free phones:

In case you did not hear that clearly, we will transcribe it as best we can.

“Everybody in Cleveland, low minorities, got Obama phone. Keep Obama in president, you know. He gave us a phone, he gonna do more.”

The person shooting the video asks, How did he give you a phone? To which the woman replies: “You sign up! If you on food stamps, you on social security, you got low income, you disability … “

Listen closely to the audio. She does not say “food” stamps, but “fool” stamps. I was told it was all over talk radio on Friday, so I forced myself to listen again. Sho ‘nuff.

Paul K. writes:

The repeated playing of that tape by Rush Limbaugh on his show has, predictably, been denounced as racist. Elspeth Reeve of the Atlantic Wire wrote:

“The point of the video—and the reason Drudge and Limbaugh hyped it—is to say, this is what Obama voters look like: black, poor, stupid, and after your money. The video’s subject wasn’t picked out because she ‘happens to be black,’ she was picked out because she is black.”

This suggest another Rule on how to avoid being tarred as a racist:

As all stereotypes about blacks are wrong, when blacks are behaving in such a way as to confirm a negative stereotype, you should dismiss it blandly and forget about it immediately. Otherwise, you may begin to adopt stereotypical thinking, and to express stereotypical ideas.

By the way, the Howard Stern Show conducted man-on-the-street interviews in Harlem about the present campaign. Quite funny to find out how little these prospective voters know: some thought Obama was running against McCain, that Paul Ryan was Obama’s running mate, that Obama is against gay marriage, and that Osama bin Laden was still on the loose.
