Good news for once: Two-thirds of Americans support Arizona-type illegal-immigration laws

The Washington Times reports:

In the wake of the Supreme Court decision to uphold Arizona’s law allowing police to check the immigration status of those they detain, an overwhelming majority of Americans say they want to see their own states enact the same kinds of laws.

The latest Washington Times/JZ Analytics survey, released Monday night, found about two-thirds of all likely voters would like to see their own police be able to check immigration status during routine traffic stops. Support was high across most demographics, including self-identified Republicans and independents, and even Hispanics favored the policy by a 55 percent to 41 percent margin.

Support AZ style immigration laws—so what? I think you misunderstand the nature of modern America, or perhaps it’s always been this way. Top down, controlled by an elite. If the elite wants cheap labor, they get it—and they did. The elite wants gay marriage. And they’ll get it.

LA replies:

I stand corrected. Such is the nature of modern America, that even when there’s something that sounds like good news, it’s not good news.
Diana M. replies:

(Sigh.) I’m disappointed. I thought you would fight me! So, I’m right?

Only half-joking. I don’t like thinking this way, Mr. Auster. I don’t. It’s a form of despair. Hopelessness. But I think it explains a lot.

“Why does conservatism keep losing?” I keep hearing this, and the gnashing of conserva-teeth resounds in my years. Well, I think I have discovered the answer. And it’s not a conspiracy, secret-cabal issue at all. It’s right out in the open. Do you remember how gay marriage was presented to NY State—by the governor, and that rich crony? Voila, fait accompli.

Similarly what I believe to be the worst single piece of legislation in the history of pro-homosexual legislation is now being introduced into the California State Senate, by a homosexual state senator, Mark Leno. Behold this abomination: “Proposed California Bill Would Allow For More Than Two Parents.”

I have no comment, no words. I would love to hear your regulars, who are all more intelligent than I, tell us what the effects of such legislation will be.

For myself, the day this is passed will truly be, “The Day America Went Certifiable.” [LA replies: I would say that the day the Massachusetts top court approved homosexual “marriage,” and Gov. Romney accepted it, was the day America went certifiable.]

And how would this come to pass? A state senator from California’s rich, white Sonoma district, proposes legislation, in a state composed mostly of boobs, whose cities are going bankrupt, one by one.

This elite pervert is a “rabbi,” by the way, ordained from one of the crazy left-wing Jewish denominations.

Our country is in a state of very serious decay. Maybe we should just let it continue on its natural course.
