For the EU leaders, the only way the crisis can be resolved is through the creation of the EUSSR

In today’s New York Times, this:

On consecutive days last week, two of the most powerful figures in Europe—Mario Draghi, president of the European Central Bank, and Olli Rehn, the most senior economic official in Brussels—warned that the future of the euro zone was in doubt. In the words of Mr. Rehn, the union might well disintegrate unless policy makers took steps to bind the euro’s 17 nations closer together.

Translation: the union might well distintegrate unless it is transformed into a political as well as an economic and monetary union, with a single real government, a single treasury, and a single taxing and spending authority for the entire continent. I have several times predicted that the EU leaders would do anything to prevent the breakdown of the monetary union and thus possibly of the EU itself, including making the EU into a single sovereignty, because in their twisted leftist minds, for the EU project to be defeated would mean that nationalism has won, which would mean that Nazism has won. I don’t know if they have the ability to carry out true unification and if the governments of the EU members would go along with it, but that is what the true EU believers will be pushing for as the crisis gets worse.
