Someone threw grenades in Belgium

James P. writes:

Someone threw grenades outside a courthouse in Liege, Belgium, killing two and injuring 47. I had to dig through a couple of news stories until finding this clue in the UK Telegraph:

The Karachi Post in Pakistan claimed that the attack was linked to a sentence in an honour killing case. It said the parents of Sadia Sheikh were sentenced on Monday when there had been a bomb alert in the court.

Another glorious benefit of diversity!

So the attack sounds like vengeance for the sentencing of the parents who presumably killed their daughter. I’ll be away from my computer for a few hours and will return to the story later.

UPDATE 6:00 p.m.

Apparently I have made a dreadful mistake—it was not a Pakistani immigrant at all.

It was a North African immigrant—and “career criminal”—named Nordine Amrani.

I just hate it when my Islamophobic prejudices are confounded …
