How do we make sense of things in a society that’s jumped the shark?

Kathlene M. writes:

While liberals hyperventilate about Cain and Bialek, no one seems to care that Fox’s gay show, Glee, is showing, for the first time, teen gays consummating gay relationships. The entertainment industry is touting this as a “game-changer.” (Drudge had this linked for a short while.)

So, a male politician makes an alleged advance at a woman and receives widespread condemnation and is treated with disgust, but teen gays are shown performing homosexual acts on network television and that gets a ho-hum response. Am I the only one who thinks something is dreadfully amiss here?

LA replies:

Right. We’re living in a continent-sized, electronic Sodom, and we just have to accept this, yet at the same time we are supposed to disqualify a Republican candidate because as a private citizen 15 years he allegedly made a crude overture to a woman. Do the two readers who suggest I’ve given up my principles in defending Cain, not see something wrong in this situation?
