More realistic favorability numbers on Cain

In a huge surprise (note: that was irony), it turns out that Herman Cain’s 38 percent to Romney’s 18 in a much publicized poll last week was an outlier. Gallop’s preference poll published today, October 10, shows Romney in the lead with 20, followed by Cain with 18 and Perry with 15. Cain is still doing extraordinarily well, but is no longer in a realm where he was almost certain to provoke the punishment of the gods and suffer a rapid fall.
